The Full Monty
Who dat
A native New Yorker (well, Westchester, if we’re being honest), Josh was raised on showtunes, but first caught the acting bug at a Shakespeare summer camp in middle school. Nonetheless, he was a dutiful son and attended Brown University for Classics and Slavic Studies. He stayed involved with theater by acting, producing, and directing with a site-specific Shakespeare company on campus. After a number of years wandering the barren wasteland of “gainful employment” post-graduation (including a turn as a paralegal), he dropped everything and backpacked around the world for 15 months to study performance in different countries and reconnect with his sense of self. Highlights include: studying Irish theater in Dublin, dancing butoh in Japan, and having to walk across the Estonian-Russian border in the snow after being deported from the Schengen Area (actually a funny story). Post-pandemic, he finally undertook his formal theatrical training at the Atlantic Acting School.
When not performing, Josh loves to read, share silly gator memes, kvetch about the subway, snuggle cats, and drink pumpkin spice lattes all year round. Despite being a native New Yorker, because of family allegiances (and because he enjoys pretending to have a chip on his shoulder) he is a lifelong Boston sports fan. He also proudly draws on his Jewish heritage as a community organizer for immigrant labor justice, particularly with his beloved street vendors.
